More Information Reveals LTTE network in Tamilnadu

(December, 11, Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka Guardian) The ‘Q’ branch police in Tamil Nadu, which arrested LTTE Sea Tigers at Chennai airport a couple of days ago when they landed in the city to procure boats for the banned organisation, are on the lookout for 10 more persons in connection with the incident.

State Police had arrested three operatives including S Jayakumar (34) from Jaffna.

He was allegedly using the help of another Sri Lankan national S James alias Raja (46), a businessman from Mannar, a LTTE sympathiser and S Ravi Kumar, a resident of Chennai, for procurement of boats.

Police were said to have apprehended the accused on suspicion at Anna International airport and seized Rs 4.78 lakh from them. It is said that Jayakumar was a member of Sea Tiger unit for over 10 years till he quit the outfit in 2005.

After reaching Tamilnadu without proper documents, he received instructions from Susai, the chief of Sea Tigers, to procure battle guns and boats.

He bought the boat and handed it over to James to be transported to Sea Tigers unit in northern Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, two more persons identified as Pushpa Dhanaraj (43) of Rameshwaram and Boominathan (28) were also arrested at Mallipatinam and a boat was seized from them.

Preliminary interrogations with them revealed their links with 10 more persons and the police team are looking out for them.
