Former shotgun terrorists want Tamil and Muslims to unite under them

In their New Year message: ‘Rally to win challenges in the New Year’ the extremist former shotgun terrorists Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has appealed to the ‘minority Tamil, Muslims and other masses’ to rally under their banner to confront ‘the general crisis that engulfs the whole society’.

The contributors to the hate, socio-economic decay, extremism, violence and crony culture and who have not redeemed themselves from their violent extremism since been routed by the government forces, wish to stand on moral high ground and give a leadership encompassing all the communities in the country.

The party that is an embodiment of the evilness that is pervading Sri Lanka is asking for Tamil, Muslim and other communities to support them when it will not understand the mental status of the minority communities. A party that thrives on extremism and work on the agenda to make the minority communities a manageable stock is now opportunistically asking for their support.

JVP is putting cart before the horse

A party that projects all the evilness Sri Lanka is facing now does not have a clear policy on any of the major issues affecting the nation.

It only reflects ‘hatred’ when someone honestly speaks or gives genuine analysis or expresses concerns about problems faced by the country. It only supports violence that fits its agenda and gives an open cheque to the military to rout the LTTE without considering the consequence of military offensives causing harm to the minority civilian society.

The JVP is an embodiment of the LTTE, which had committed the very same terror acts against its own people and the nation of Sri Lanka. They are major contributors to the decay Sri Lanka is facing. When Tamil opinion is moving away from the LTTE, its counterpart-the former shotgun terrorist JVP want them to join hands with them.

Will JVP publicly say what they will offer to the ‘Tamils, Muslims and the other masses’ to fulfill what each of these groups are yearning for?

A party that cannot and will not understand the psyche of the minorities and thrives on the extremism of the section of the Sinhalese, is reflecting its opportunistic wisdom to incorporate the minorities to join its campaign to face the ‘general crisis that is engulfing the whole society’.

Having opportunistically failing to defeat the ‘general crisis that is engulfing the whole society’ when it had an opportunity at the parliamentary voting on the approval of the President’s budget, the shotgun terrorists are now making wolf cry for the support of the minorities.

What has JVP tangibly done to improve the quality of life of the people of Sri Lanka, leave aside the minority communities? Nothing! Except for fermenting extremism and terror! By having an odd Chandrasekeran as its Tamil member or campaigning to grant citizenship to the stateless Tamil people living in abject conditions in India the situation will not change for the minorities to flock behind a known wolf wrapped in sheep’s skin.

A humble appeal to the JVP! Go and lean the basic kindergarten Tamil language first and then try and interact with the minority communities to understand what are their problems and further start to make public outcry about a political resolution to the minority demands to respect and incorporate them as people of Sri Lankan society.

Former shotgun terrorist JVP’s agenda of finding a military solution to the decades old terrorism of its counterpart LTTE without dealing with the causes of the terrorism by finding political solution to make the Tamil people confident about the genuine interest is like putting the cart before the horse which has so far put Sri Lanka in real peril.
