LTTE's “Army Chief” was Karuna says MP Kiriella

(January 28, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) “Karuna was LTTE’s ‘Army Chief’ and Sri Lankan military was inferior in comparison to LTTE in 2002. This is why we signed the CFA. No military fortifier fell to the LTTE since then, said main opposition parliamentarian MP Laxman Kiriella attending a political discussion hosted by a local TV (TNL) station, today (28) evening.

The parliamentarian attributed the recent military victories gained by the SL Armed force to the UNP and to the very own existence of the CFA.

The opposition MP had no hesitation in giving a defacto status to the internationally banned terrorists outfit, accountable to the killing of two state leaders including India Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

While, welcoming the government’s decision to implement the 13th amendment he further stated that full devolution of power to north and east was the brain child of UNP two decades ago, in which he forgot to state the betrayal of the Vadamarachchi military operation in 1987. This would have been the end of LTTE and many atrocities to come over the years, analysts’ state.
