FM Bogollagama meets Singapore FM Yeo

(February 18, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama on Monday (18 February) apprised Minister Yeo of the current political situation in Sri Lanka and outlined the developments in relation to the termination of the Ceasefire Agreement. He also briefed his counterpart on the APRC proposals and for the elections in the Eastern Province. The Minister reiterated that the Government remains committed to a peaceful solution of the present conflict, Foreign Ministry in Colombo said in a official statement.

Noting that air connectivity between Singapore and Sri Lanka had increased to 44 flights per week, the Minister asked Singapore to consider Sri Lanka as a “source country” for recruiting foreign staff for the upcoming integrated resorts in Singapore, the Statement added.

The Minister also thanked Singapore for its support extended for Sri Lanka’s entry into the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF). The Minister stated that the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) will be held next year in Sri Lanka.
