Rage in the streets of Serbia cities

(February 19, Belgrade, Sri Lanka Guardian) More than ten thousands of students yesterday hit the streets of Belgrade at noon in a protest walk in support of Kosovo and Metohija Serbs. Apart from students of the Belgrade University, their colleagues of the universities in Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Kosovska Mitrovica also took part in the protest.

‘The basic human rights of Kosovo Serbs have been jeopardized, but they have to stay at their homes. We have to give them our support and it is important that the peace is preserved’, Marko Milutinovic, student of the Faculty of Law said.

‘We are learning about the EU without borders, but only in the territory of our country a false state is being created. That is contrary to the international and every other law’, Bojana Stojanovic, student of the same faculty says.

About thousand of students of the secondary schools in the Town of Prokuplje also protested against unilateral proclamation of independence of Kosovo. Protests were held in Blace, Bor, Loznica, Nis, Kragujevac and Kosovska Mitrovica, too.
