(April 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A celebration was held recently at the Ministry of Social Services and Social Welfare blessing the people of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan Government by the Hindu priests marking the dawn of Sinhala-Hindu Sarwadhari New Year.Brahma Sri P. Ragawan Hindu priest, on behalf of the Sri Vidya International Academy of Hindu Priests, blessed Douglas Devananda, Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare and honoured him by wrapping him round with a golden shawl.
Hindu priests, Ramachandran Kurukkal Babu Sharma, K. Balachandra Sharma, S. Sivaneshan Sharma, Ms. Maheshwari Velautham Attorney-At-Law and Advisor to the Minister and many others participated at this religious function.
