Pillayan elected to Chief Ministers chair

(May 31, Badulla, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Chief Ministers Conference has elected East Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan as its chairman for a four-month period. The two-day meeting of the Conference concluded at the Management Development and Training Centre at Pallagahatenna in Badulla today (May 31st).

Mr. Chandrakanthan was also chosen as chairman of the executive committee of the Chief Ministers Conference.

The next meeting of the Conference will take place in Batticaloa under his chairmanship.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently summoned all provincial chief ministers to Temple Trees and advised them to extend fullest cooperation to the East CM.
