British law makers are there to break the very law they make

by Our Correspondent from London

(July 15, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) Some of the British elected parliamentarians are being accused of disrespecting and violating the very same Terrorism Act they brought to halt citizens subscribing to the international terrorist activities in the UK. Five members belonging to cross parties in the House of Commons have knowingly attended the Pongu Thamil festival of the LTTE in the South London on 12 July 2008.

The LTTE is a proscribed outfit under the British Terrorism Act and even glorifying its cause is defined in the act as a terrorist act.

The British parliamentarians knowingly attended the function and did not raise their displeasure when the most wanted terrorist leader Pirabakaran’s pictures were carried by the hardcore LTTE activists.

The parliamentarians who undermined the British terrorism laws and glorified the proscribed LTTE are as follows:

Virendra Sharma MP (Labour). He represents Ealing and Southall constituency. He is the Chairman of the pro LTTE All Party Parliamentary Group for Tamils (Tigers) in the parliament.

Ed Davy MP (Liberal Democrat). He represents Kingston and Surbiton. A hardcore LTTE supporter.

Andrew Pelling MP (Conservatives). He represents Croydon Central constituency.

Siobhan McDonnagh MP ( Labour). She represents Mitcham and Morden.

Dawn Butler MP (Labour). She represents Brent South.

When the law makers blatantly violate the terrorism laws questions are being asked as to how citizens of the country could be vigilant on the activities of the terrorists.

Of the 300,000 Tamil population in the UK, only about 8,000 had attended the LTTE function. The remainder of the 10,000 attended were said to be specially ferried from the mainland Europe to swell the number.

Who you trying to fool? No ways there is 300,000 Tamils in England, why you lying by saying only 8000 people attended. There was more than 40,000 people attended a great day. England is not state of terrorism like Sri Lanka where if you stand up freedom you get killed, England is a democratic country please understand that

300,000 count comes from the official statement of former British Foreign Minister last year. It must be shocking number for ever sleeing Mr Freedom indeed. Police say 10,000 attended and even the LTTE Tamilnet confirmed this. Of this 2,000 were from European main land. Therefore the net figure if understood is correct. This is simple arithmatic isn't it? The UK number attended therefore stands at a miniscule 2% of the Tamil population.

I agree there is freedom in the UK. But Mr Freedom failed to understand there is also a Terrorism Act that curbs the activities of the proscribed groups like the LTTE. Pongu Thamil is a LTTE event indeed.

Rajasingham Jeyadevan or shall I call you Credit card fraud Undiyalaan why are you being selfish and give false information? You just manipulating the fingers to paint a false picture, if you taking the figures from Tamil net regarding the attendees from Europe why cant you take the total attendees figure from there? Which are by the way over 30,000. Why can’t you admit that Pongu Tamil was big success not only in London all over the world, shall I remind you Canada alone over 100,000 proud Tamils celebrated the great day for democracy. May I also state that I witnessed my self seeing over 30,000 people on that’s day.

Regarding Terrorism Act, first of all it’s not a LTTE event it’s an Elam event, which by the way is not banned. Secondly is in the same people libeled and banned Nelson Mandela as who can’t stop praising him. There will be a day when the world will praise Great Pirabakaran.

The Sri Lankan Government and the Global Community are culpable in the creation of the LTTE movement. From 1947 to the 1970s, the Sri Lankan Government engaged in Horrific abuse and Discrimination against the Tamil minority, and yet peaceful Tamil protests yielded zero results. This provoked the creation of a violent separatist movement the LTTE. The Black July of 83 is a well planned Genocide against the Tamil Minority in Sri Lanka. Over 5000 Tamils have been killed by the Sri Lankan Security forces and more than 40,000 Tamil Homes been looted and burnt down. Several hundreds of Tamil women were raped by the Majority Sinhalese.
The lesson to be learned is that when oppressive dictatorships like Communist China and Islamic Malaysia commit horrific abuse against peaceful minorities, like Tibetans and Malaysian Hindus, other democracies must intervene and force justice for the oppressed. Otherwise, frustrated minorities may be forced to take up arms to achieve justice.

The LTTE took up Arms to fight the injustice and atrocities perpetrated against the Tamil Minorities in Sri Lanka for the past 4 decades by the Sinhala majority Community
