Sri Lankan Airline gone to dogs?

by Saman Silva

(July 08, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sri Lankan Airlines had been known to the world as the carrier of Sri lankan image to the world. However, recently, the quality and image of Sri Lankan airlines had indeed gone to the dogs.

The usual pleasant airhostess's now have forgotten how to smile. Furthermore, most of them sound extremely rude and unpleasant to the customers.

"It is almost as they are paying us money to fly with them I feel," said a passenger who was flying from UK to Colombo last week on UL 506 flight.

The usual Ayubhowan that was a trademark of Sri Lankan image too had vanished into thin air, according to passengers. " I felt strange that standards of cabin crew had gone down on such a steep," according to another passenger.

"It seems that the emirates had taken all the best cabin crew with them and had left the rot with the Sri Lankan Airlines. This is a sad reality," he added.

The Sri Lankan Government must take immediate steps to rectify this situation to prevent the Sri Lankan image being raped and destroyed by current Sri Lankan cabin teams.

Mr. Silva, I fear the quality of the in-flight service is dependent on one's skin colour! A number of SRI LANKANS have mentioned the same thing!

Foreigners can expect a much higher standard of service!

Having experienced this first hand on a SriLankan airlines flight, I swore I will NEVER fly with them!

To be treated as a 2nd class citizen by your own people must be something uniquely Sri Lankan!
