Arjuna and Pilliyan hold discussions on developing Cricket in East

(August 19, Trincomalee, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman Arjuna Ranatunga with Duleep Mendis held talks on Tuesday ( August 19) at the Eastern Provincial Chief Secretariat in Trincomalee with the Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan and Provincial Minister of Sports M.L.A.M.Hisbullah.

Development of cricket in the eastern province that has been neglected in past was among the subjects taken up for discussion.

Mr. Ranatunga assured the provincial administration that he would take steps to construct three stadiums-each in every district of the province, Amparai, Batticaloa and Trincomalee at international level.

He added that he has appointed former cricketer D.S.de Silva as coordinator for the eastern province to go forward in implement the project.
