Indian Hindu Atrocities in Kashmir

(August 10, New Delhi, Sri Lanka Guardian) When India flirts around Israel and USA for their weapons and support for whatever it does at home and aboard in the name of what has now become a fashion in international scene, the ”strategic partnerships”, not many Muslims have comprehended the depth of such maneuverings by an allegedly pro-Arab India in the region and beyond. India has applied all logics to squander the resources of Kashmir and cripple its economy, art from killing Kashmiris by branding them as “terrorists”. Indian and even bulk of Kashmir media consistently oppose Kashmir freedom movement. Indian arrogance stems from the fact that it always manage to get a few pro-India leaders on payment basis and hence the brutally restless killings in the militarized Kashmir. Many Indian still think Kahsmir as a part of India.

ONE – Global to Kashmir

The significance of such immoral anti-Islamic alliances has more to do with fighting Islam rather than economic or security collectivism. India clearly saw through the nefarious designs of USA in cornering the Muslims and Islamic nations. The reality show behind the Sept 11 seems to be collective wisdom of all anti-Islamic forces operating through out the world. When India also had enacted its own Parliamentary attack show and banded it as a terrorist act by “Kashmiri terrorists”, it only sent out signals to Washington about its serious intentions for “strategic partnership’ on the basis of the “shared values” between them, However, US strategists are keen not to be seen as ant-Islamic, but only anti-fundamentalist or anti-terrorist coalition. If people could easily enter the US airports and lift airplanes to hit them at their own appointed spots, why not “Indian terrorists” hit at parliament? - India seems to argue.

The US-led terror war in Islamic world has not only killed thousands of innocent Muslims, tortured them and destroyed historical towns , but also offers enough opportunities for reconstruction activities and US is the chief authority to assign contracts to the businessmen from “like mined coalition partners”. India seeks a share in contracts by using its strategic partnership.

TWO – Indian Intolerance

Indian zero tolerance for criticism from neighboring countries and domestic media is a known experience of those who try to portray Indian reality. While Indian media out rightly reject any such "adventurism", media outside India are somewhat panicky about publishing anything that "hurts" Indian sentiments and sensibility.

This explains why India media, newspapers in particular, just prefer articles on blasting its neighbors including Kashmir, neighboring nations including Pakistan has developed a pro-India stance and also reject articles on Indian reality. While the entire Jammu Kashmir newspapers are developed over decades colonial existence a pro-India and Indian stance, the are newspapers even in Pakistan supporting Indian cause, though they harp criticism of their own leadership as pat of emerging "democracy" trends.

Indian media thus refuse to accommodate the concerns of Indian Muslim and neighboring nations including Kashmir. They just harp on what according to the Indian intelligence are "wrong".

THREE – Same strategy

Non Muslims are safe in Kashmir as Kashmir Muslims believe in real communal harmony. The Kashmiris have never targeted non-Muslims during their agitation. In fact, they even provided food and lodging facility to the yatris and tourists during the 9-day agitation against the land transfer. They did this magnanimous gesture even while they are under constant attack from occupying forces from India, suffering from Indian torture, genocide and destructions.

Hindus in Jammu, rather their extremist elements, feel frustrated by the success of the Kashmiris in fighting a just cause against Indian and JK governments in shallow land dealings and showcasing their solidarity with the struggling Kashmiris.

Having failed their tricks to bully the Kashmiris, now the Hindus in Jammu region have resorted to what is called economic terrorism against Kashmiris particularly in Srinagar sector. They have blocked the national highway from Jammu to Kashmir, the main vein of JK trade.

FOUR - State Economic Terrorism

It has been the strategy of Americans and Jews and other anti-Islamic people across the globe to impose economic blockades against Muslims to make them shun Islamic faith and way of life. Hindus in Jammu region ha also resorted to such economic terrorist activities by blocking goods movement between Kashmir and Jammu, having failed in their attempts to fully communalize the Jammu Kashmir with the assent of the illegal land deal by the JK government and governor.

The Hindus have successfully launched high-way blockage on NH1A between Jammu and Srinagar thereby creating uncertainly in Kashmir and economic problems, including heavy loss of fruit and income. The situation has become increasingly cruel for the innocent Kashmiris because they demand freedom form the occupying Indian forces.

The Valley’s fruit growers suffered losses to the tune of Rs 60 crores during the frequent blockades of the Srinagar-Jammu highway by the rightwing Hindu activists. The valley fruit growers, most of them from north Kashmir's Baramulla district said that they had decided to send their fruit to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan administered Kashmir as the government had failed to protect the trucks carrying their goods from the attacks of the fanatic Hindus. the fruit especially apple and cherry waiting to be taken to the outside market have rotted in the trucks which has caused huge losses to the fruit growers and people associated with the trade.

Economic blockade calls given by Hindu fundamentalist forces is their frustration. Hurriyat Conference (M) Provincial President, Nayeem Ahmed Khan on July 31 said that the Hurriyat would cross the Line of Control (LoC) if the rightwing Hindus continue to block the Srinagar-Jammu highway. Khan said that the Hurriyat (M) would seek resolution of the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of Kashmiris.

Sacrifices offered by the people of occupied Kashmir should be respected. Khan said that Kashmir should be resolved as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people. He also sought cooperation of all leaders and workers in this regard. To make Hurriyat more vibrant, Khan announced a 25-point action plan and sought cooperation of other leaders to implement it. Hopefully the leaders of Hurriyat will sympathetically consider this.

World traders always seek economic ties with Kashmiris. July 31: Iran’s apex body of trade and commerce, Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines signed a trade pact with Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) here during KCCI delegations’ Iran visit. After discussions the two chambers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enable development of commercial exchange and economic cooperation.

FIVE - Hindu Al-Qaeda in Jammu

Kashmiris have not blocked the movement of Indian military equipment and goods from New Delhi to Kashmir even though they are being used against Kashmiris. But India can do anything to silence the freedom seeking Kashmiris. That is Indian brand of democracy.

Kashmiris have won the moral battle against racist forces of Jammu, but India should feel bad about it, because Kashmiris only reiterated their strong resolve to regaining their independence form India. Kashmiris through their peaceful agitation in Valley have disappointed the racist elements in Jammu. Now Hindus are frustrated and are making every attempt to communalize the situation. A fringe element comprising Hindu chauvinists and extremists with the tacit support of government is vainly trying to vitiate the peaceful communal atmosphere in Jammu by stoking the fires of communal hatred. Kashmir leaders have voiced their serious concern about Indian attitude. Harassment won’t be tolerated y them who have already lost their kith and kin in state terrorist methods.

India is creating a Hindu version of Al-Qaeda to generate tensions and create a civil war. On the one hand, Government of India is providing arms and training to common people and encouraging Hindu extremists to vitiate peaceful communal atmosphere in Jammu, on the other, bullets are sprayed on the people in Valley if they stage peaceful protests against killings and human rights violations or agitate over some administrative failures. This speaks volumes of Indian brand of democracy and secularism and exposes India’s double standards.

It is obvious that the "sectarian forces" in Jammu flare communal tension for deriving maximum political mileage in the forthcoming assembly and parliamentary elections. Administration and police in Jammu are allowing sectarian forces to vandalize property and they have even attacked Masjid and Police Control Room. Elections are coming soon to Jammu Kashmir and except the patriotic wings of politics, every party has begun poll preparations and the strategies for the ensuing Assembly and Parliamentary hustling. Recent Amarnath Yatra scene was enacted by Hndutva forces used by New Delhi with a view to obtaining maximum political advantages and benefits out of the illegal transaction and its subsequent cancellation by JK government and governor.

Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani called on the liberal forces in Jammu not to fall prey to the sectarian violence. Geelani said about intimidation from sectarian forces that there will be an economic blockade. We have no choice but to learn to cope up in the minimum. Geelani appealed to the people of Kashmir not to get swayed by the provocation of fanatics. The hatred against Muslims initiated by them is a conspiracy of provoking the sentiments of masses across Jammu Kashmir. Geelani said that "non-state subjects are being settled in Jammu under a conspiracy and people from administration, agencies and army are involved in that. We will soon come with data about how many non-state subjects have been settled in Jammu," he said. Reacting to the BJP leaders’ remarks about restriction of movement to resistance leaders, Geelani said, "Entire J&K is our own land and we can visit any place we wish to. No one has got any right to stop us. His statement was untimely and giving deadline is not feasible."

The decision of India in setting up of Village Defence Committees (VDCs) and Self Defence Committees (SDCs) will create a civil war as it would make Hindus fight against Muslims armed with government support. By providing arms to common people in Jammu and forming VDCs and SDCs, New Delhi is giving a freehand to communal elements to force Kashmiris to leave Jammu. This reveals India’s ulterior motives and evil designs towards Kashmiris.

Traders, transporters, students, officials in Jammu know it very well that the communal elements are injurious to the entire region. Terming the communal harmony as the backbone for regional peace, Geelani said, "Muslims in Jammu should maintain calm and only react if there is threat to their dignity, property and lives." Geelani said people in Kashmir have been courteous and shown ultimate brotherhood toward Yatris even in the worst times. Geelani talked about bad road conditions in JK and said that had he got resources, he would have constructed the shambled Mogul road in Srinagar himself without depending on the government of India or JK. India is deliberately keeping this project lingering as they don’t want Muslims in Kashmir proper, Poonch and Rajouri to get connected.

SIX - Why drag Kashmiris into Indian serial blasts?

No one knows for sure who had blasted the bombs in Indian towns, Indian government and media as usual cast unnecessary aspersions on Muslims in India, Kashmir and Pakistan. The Indian official terrorists are safe but cricket matches would go on. India is keen to crush the Kashmiris now for being bold in demanding freedom. In Kashmir les Democratic Party (PDP) leader & former Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Karra asked the security agencies not to drag Kashmiri businessmen and students putting up in south Indian city of Bangalore and capital city of Gujarat, Ahmedabad in serial blasts. Te investigating agencies should not have a petrified mindset about Muslims and Kashmiris in particular and should not brand them as culprits even before the initial investigations. Karra said that in the past several Kashmiri students and businessmen targeted in similar situations proved innocent after investigations. But the damage was already done to their careers and reputation.

Majority of people in Jammu division subscribe and support the Kashmiris’ cause for freedom. People of Jammu Kashmir were forced to live in isolation for the past 60 years. Harassment of innocent Kashmiris putting up in Bangalore is deplorable. Police is targeting Kashmiris intentionally and is trying to book them by framing concocted charges against them. We will not tolerate their harassment.

Now the time has come when the people of the State must be allowed to move around freely in the region carrying along with them their produce and intellectual resources." Karra also called for making the process of cross-LoC travel hassle-free as thousands of such applications are pending clearance with the concerned departments.

Provincial President of Hurriyat (M) Nayeem Ahmed Khan said that New Delhi’s hate for Kashmiris could be gauged from incidents in Bangalore where Kashmiri students and traders were arrested and harassed after serial blasts in the city. Khan said the unjustified agitation launched by the fringe element of Hindu extremists would end soon as it does not have a public support.

India would keep on torturing Kashmirs on any pretext and Kashmiris are expected to worship the cynical Indian strategists as well. Geelani said this is high time to make Kashmiris self-reliant. This is must so that nobody threatens Kashmiris to block supply routes. Reiterating his stand on election boycott, the septuagenarian leader said, “NC, PDP, Congress, communists are slaves of India and resort to every tactics to befool Kashmiris to allow Indian tighten its control over Kashmir”. He appealed people to stay away from the poll process. The elections cannot be an alternative to right to Self determination that has been granted to people of Jammu and Kashmir by first Indian prime Minister and resolutions in this regard are pending in United Nations.

SEVEN - Kashmiri businessmen, students face harassment

Following serial blasts rocked towns in – Bangalore, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Kashmiri businessmen and students putting up in these places and elsewhere are as usual being ‘harassed’ by the police and other security agencies. As before, no one knows for sure the agencies and cause for the “terrorists” action in India. However the media lords always cite the quick intelligence reports that point to some Islamic groups and Pakistani for whenever “terrorists” strike in India. Thanks to US anti-Islamic propaganda directly and through its media, Indian media and intelligence have become bold to openly accuse Muslims and Pakistan for what ever happens bad in the country, while for all development and cash muscle it has acquired it does not say Muslims in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are responsible for that as well.

Kashmirs are the worst sufferers in India when “terrorism” happens. “After the bomb blasts, we were summoned to concerned police stations and were told to visit the police station every morning. For past two days many Kashmiris like me are facing immense mental trauma,” a Kashmiri working with IT Company in Bangalore said. Another Kashmiri putting up near Commercial Street in Bangalore said that many Kashmiris putting up in different areas of Bangalore like Kamanahalli, Kormangla, BTM Layout, Frazer Town, Shanti Nagar, MG Road and Commercial Street are being questioned and intimidated. Kashmiri students studying in various institutes in Bangalore city too accused police of harassing them.

Once again Kashmiris are seen being on the run, being haunted by Indian forces. Besides appearing in concerned police stations, many security agencies are collecting information about Kashmiris putting up in different localities. “Policemen in civvies visited the area where I am putting up with my friends. They collected information about us and asked our neighbors to keep a watch on our activities. For past two days we’ve been living under constant fear.”

India takes revenge on Kashmirs without any cause. Kashmiri Students in Karnataka colleges alleged that these blasts have provided a chance to police for taking revenge of last year’s case in which Kashmiri students were detained in Ramnagaram Police Station on the pretext of picking up fights with Bihari counterparts. “After last year’s Bihari-Kashmiri clashes, the cops of Ramnagaram Police station were looking for a chance to harass us as the arrested students refused to bribe them. Now they are punishing us for not greasing their palms. Even college authorities are not coming to our rescue”.

A Word

Under the mysterious environment of “terrorism”, a few questions should be asked for the UN to respond with proof: US involvement in Indian terrorism? Is global terrorism a part of a larger Indo-US Hidden Agenda?

Even as Kashmiris in USA are debating the issue of Kashmir freedom blessed with support from world leaders, including of the USA, a top pro-India Kashmir leader Abdullah is trying toe with line of Hndutva fanatics by asking the Kashmiris to let the Hindus organization SANB have ht eland sought to gab from Kashmir. These leaders who have ruled the Jammu Kashmir with Indian protection are used to polishing the New Delhi shoes. Kashmiri should be clear about how Palestinians lost their land and how Chechens let Russian annex their lands and how they themselves were betrayed by fellow Kashmiris by allowing India to annex it and terror forces to kill them mercilessly.

Will these pro-Indian elements change at all? And will the newspapers in Kashmir promote the freedom movement and support the cause of independence form arrogant Indian, in stead of aligning with Indian Hindus and heating the Kashmirs who have already lost thousands and thousands of precocious sovereign lives?. Can’t the Kashmiris comprehend the criminal polices and politics of India after all these genocide and destructions? How long can the Kashmiris keep on appeasing the imperialist Indians who have shamelessly colonized their nation and still refuse to QUIT Kashmir?
