New Iranian ambassador to Sri Lanka named



(August 06, Tehran, Sri Lanka Guardian) Iran on Wednesday named its ambassador to Sri Lanka.

Mahmoud Rahimi Gorgi was appointed to the post on the proposal of Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and approval of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The new ambassador had earlier served in various capacities including head of Asia-Pacific economic bureau at the Foreign Ministry as well as deputy head of the Iranian embassies in Malaysia and South Korea.
