Ban Ki Moon Has done it again.

by Charles S.Perera

(September 11, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) It is a real shame a person who is no other than the Secretary General of the UNO , cannot understand the war against a known ruthless group of terrorist for whom human rights and civilian lives matters nothing. Information is fed to Ban Ki-moon by anti-developing country western bureaucrats in his press office, who are also his speech writers , and those who prepare his correspondence. Ban Ki-moon merely puts his signature, or even that responsibility is handed over to another. Therefore in his name comes out ridiculous assertions, misinformation, and the manifestation of rank ignorance.

Ban Ki-moon's press office which issues statements in his name does not know what is happening in Killinochchi. The civilians are rounded up by the terrorist and taken to the interior of Killinochchi to be used as a human shield to save the life of the terrorist leader, the psychopath and murderer Prabhakaran. The food and medicine provided for the civilian population in Kilinochchi are stolen to feed the terrorist cadres.

The terrorists, who Ban Ki-moon hesitates to call as such, are making a last ditch war instead of surrendering to the army to save the lives of the civilians, soldiers , and his own mislead young men and women most of them still children. Ban Ki-moon should stop his press office parrot the same old meaningless statement, which they had been repeating in all their correspondence issued in his name , "…both sides were obliged to ensure the safety of civilians". Without the Ban Ki-moon's press office has to say it , the government of Sri Lanka and the army is aware of their need to ensure the safety of the civilians, therefore they are taking all precautions to avoid the civilians in their air attacks.

So far even the websites of the terrorists have not reported large scale deaths of civilians due to government Air force bombardments or artillery fire of the government forces. This, these misinformed press officers have failed to verify.

Amnesty International equally ignorant of the real situation is intentionally or unintentionally helping the terrorist instead of helping the government to end the menace of terrorism from which we the people of the country had been suffering for over a quarter century. The Ban Ki-Moon's UN, the IC, EU or interfering AI, have in no way helped the government of Sri Lanka in its "war" against terrorism.

We are only asking these do-gooders to help the government and its Armed Forces at this crucial hour, by keeping their "mouths shut" without accusing the government and the Security forces for violation of the safety of the civilians, which they are doing even with the great difficulties they face, with numbers of these valiant soldiers giving their lives to do so.

We have an excellent army – our Security Forces and Air Force Pilots are second to none in the world, and they are doing an excellent job, in their object of the elimination of terrorism and save our country.
