(September 16, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A crisis is looming in Sri Lanka’s prestigious Business & Management institute, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, as female students and even senior women lecturers are also facing unprecedented verbal, mental and physical sexual abuse from a well know senior Management lecturer, according to reliable information received.

This has been continuing in the University premises for some time and many has refrained from charging against the alleged individual as he has been running a defacto regime with his close associates; some leftist union leaders including few male tutors.

This senior individual who belongs to the Management staff of the University is also alleged of calling/ringing at midnight to his peer female lecturers and on a few occasions has intimidated his fellow undergraduate female students for intermittent sexual relationships. Some fearing reprisals have given them selves-up, securing a first class at the end of the final semester exams.
The Vice-Chancellor, Dean of the Management faculty and Department heads have gone dumb and deaf on the rising issue despite substantial evidences of the unethical behaviors, of the afore mentioned ‘sex trumatist’.

Recently, it is learned that he has threatened some fellow co-workers with reprisal for refusing to answer his ‘night time fantasy mobile calls’. He also has gone the mile sending red notices to few, threatening them that he would assure them been kicked of from the faculty for defying his ‘orders’. According to informed sources he has been exercising injudicious powers with least respect to UGC status or fundamental norms with callous disregard to dignity and integrity of the coworkers’ and undergraduates.

He has also been maintaining a statusquo within a selected elite group, and has foregone using verbally abusing those who insist questioning his ‘immatured behavior’.
