Indian Govt to convene all party meet on Lankan Tamil issue



(October 10, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) An all-party meeting would be held here on October 14 to discuss the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka and the recent attacks on Tamils in the island nation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunandihi said here yesterday night.

In an official press release here, he said the meeting would discuss various ways to mitigate the sufferings of Sri Lankan Tamils and formulate a plan to press the Centre to take more actions to prevent the "genocide of Tamils" in Sri Lanka.

The government had extended invitation to all political parties to participate in the meeting, he said.
