“Jayalalitha has no right to flay PM”



(October 06, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) Coming down heavily on AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa, the TNCC president K V Thangka Balu today said the she has no right to criticise Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Addressing mediapersons here, Thangka Balu, said, ‘Manmohan was elected by people’s mandate. Jayalalithaa has no right to launch a tirade against him’.

On the ethnic issue in the neighbouring island nation, the TNCC chief said, ‘We have urged the Prime Minister to take adequate measures to help the Tamils in Sri Lanka.’


Union Defence Minister A K Antony had raised the issue with Sri Lankan President Rajapakse recently. ‘Even after losing former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, our party is focused on protecting the rights of the Lankan Tamils,’ the TNCC leader added.

On Tamilnadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s call to sent telegrams to Prime Minister’s Office to stop genocide in Sri Lanka, Thangka Balu said, ‘ every party has got its own policies and programmes for an issue. We welcome it’.
