Don’t sow seeds of communalism warns Ranil

(December 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Addressing the media in Parliament yesterday ( 5 Dec), UNP and Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said Environmental Minister Champika is only preoccupied with attacking other communities . All his decisions are also racially oriented. Some of the media too are stoking this inclination , he alleged.

However, as before , so even now he is not afraid to express that some are scared to talk out against the JHU thinking that the State media and some others would target them for attacks. It is fair enough a newspaper giving a fair coverage to the Govt. and the Opposition . By that token the MEP deserves a greater coverage than the JHU, he noted.

Let not the Nation forget that it is the so called selfish politics exploiting extremist racial fervor in the past in the name of protecting Buddhism and country that has precipitated this national holocaust militating against peace and prosperity of the country. - Sri Lanka Guardian
