"Six killed in suicide bomb explosion in Wattala"

(December 28, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A suicide bomber set off an explosion Sunday morning close to a Civi Defence Force (Home Guard) post in Wattala killing at least six CDF members and injuring 10 others, Police spokesman said.

He said the explosion went off close to St Anne's Church and the Sunday fair. The bomber had entered the place through the fence.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Navy destroyed an LTTE logistic boat killing four LTTE carders twelve miles North East of Point Pedro shortly after Saturday midnight, the Navy said.

Navy intercepted an LTTE logistic boat off Point Pedro at midnight and opened heavy fire destroying the boat, Navy said. - Sri Lanka Guardian
