Indians; We Are Free to Tell You!

(December 15, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Some say successive Sri Lankan governments have been too polite not to accuse India of breeding Tamil terrorists on Indian soil to destabilise Sri Lanka. The truth is that the SL governments have been powerless to go against the might of massive India. India failed to understand the real reason for such quiet of the little neighbour. Emboldened by the cowardice of the little Sri Lankans it kept on committing unprecedented crimes against Sri Lanka’s people, its development and prosperity by helping LTTE and other Tamil terrorists to destabilise Sri Lanka’s economic growth, to destroy its educational advancement and to slow down its strides towards development. India is partly responsible for the dire conditions of human existence in the Island today. Although the GOSL and its politicians have to be circumspect in what they say, we as independent citizens have no such obligations or qualms about telling the Indians what they are, what they have done and what they will get in turn,

India however, has begun to realise that evil breeds evil since Rajiv was assassinated by Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman and thousands of IPKF soldiers lost their lives. The recent spate of terrorist activities that culminated in Mumbai massacres can be a constant reminder to India that Sri Lanka and its people have suffered thousand times worse because of her wrong doing. In addition to this self realisation many independent people from both sides of the Palk Strait have been expressing their views in recent weeks about the mistakes India has made and how she suffers from them. Ravi Malhotra and Ravi Wigneswaran had written articles to Sri Lanka Guardian that all politicians in India should read.

India blames Pakistan for being the breeding ground for terrorists. You cannot throw stones from a glass house. India as a nation itself has to stop breeding or helping terrorist activities against any of its neighbours. Consequently the neighbours will stop doing the same. India needs to cooperate with the neighbours to eradicate any terrorist build up or activities in the region. This includes Pakistan. No ordinary public of any country encourage terrorist activities of which they themselves fall victim of. The politicians, the fanatics and the extremists do breed and nurture terrorists and terrorism. They are in the minority. The majority can always develop methods to stop such trends.

Enough have been said about the hypocrisy and double standards of some Tamil Nadu politicians in the recent weeks after Sarath Fonseka’s alleged joker remarks. People have been made aware of the criminal statements made by Vaiko against another country. They have been made to understand what motivates Vaiko and the likes to tow anti Sri Lanka line. Both Karunanidhi and Vaiko have said that Sarath Fonseka is a foreigner who has no business in talking about Indian politicians or simply about India. These very same people not only talk but act in relation to Sri Lanka. Who are they? Foreigners or belonging to Matara Aiyas, Maradana Chandiyas, Anuradhapura Gamayas or Yalpanam Thambis?

Ravi Malhotra has suggested that Sri Lanka should ask for compensation from India for the destruction it has caused in Sri Lanka. Let’s be realistic. India is still very poor to pay compensation that SL people deserve. Being Sri Lankans all that we ask the Indian central government is not to listen to Tamil Nadu politicians and make the same mistake, not to interfere any further in our affairs but help and corporate with the GOSL to finish the terrorists and terrorism in Sri Lanka. Terrorism has become a global menace. Those who nurture terrorism will suffer from terrorism.
