SL in economic catastrophe

(December 12, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Even before the global economic recession descended , Sri Lanka was faced with countless economic problems – no sound macroeconomic framework to take advantage of low inflation, interest rates and budget deficits. Therefore , the Govt. is now not left with options to stimulate the economy , Dr. Kehelgama , the Executive Director of the Institute of policy studies said.

Consequently, the Govt. will have to postpone infrastructure development projects or will have to slow down , he added.- Sri Lanka Guardian
