'Sunday Leader' editor shot

(January 08, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Chief Editor of the 'Sunday Leader', Lasantha Wickramatunga has been admitted to the Accident Ward of the Kalubowila Hospital after being shot by a group of unidentified armed men a short while ago (Jan. 08th).

Mr. Wickramatunga has been shot near the Bakery Junction in Mt. Lavinia while on his way to work, reports say.

His condition is critical, the Hospital source said. - Sri Lanka Guardian
