(March 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) We thank Sri Lanka Guardian for the story on Bandit Viyali’s grandson Ilamparithy. As a collector of funds under all kinds of excuses and also fleecing visiting relatives from overseas mercilessly, Ilamparithy was worse than Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman. When he was terrorizing from Nandavanam in Kondavil, he tried to approach my community in Passaiyur to collect protection money and gather our young people into their terror activities. We had our own fisheries cooperative there.

But we would have none of it. Having warned us of dire consequences, one night two of our fishing boats were set on fire and the blame was cast on the army.

That very morning a group of our people decided to take quick action. They were sure it was Bandit Viyali’s grandson who was behind this evil attack. Armed with knives we use for slicing sharks and big fish, the Nandavanam extortion camp was approached for an answer and explanation. On seeing this group approaching, Ilamparithy and his assistants jumped over the back wall and fled to Muhamalai about 25 miles away where there was an LTTE Camp. Thereafter, this extortion office functioned from there.

It there should ever be an Eelam State, it would be people like Bandit Viyali’s grandson Ilamparithy who will run the Tamil community.
