(April 02, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Mount Lavinia magistrate’s court took up the assassination case of veteran journalist Lasantha Wickremathunga today.
The suspect charged with stealing Lasantha Wickremathunga’s mobile phone was produced before court and Additional Magistrate Darshika Wimalasiri placed the suspect under remand custody until April 16.
Attorney’s at Law appearing for Lasantha Wickremathunga made an application to the court to hand over the case to the Criminal Investigations Department.
Meanwhile, the Mirihana police, carrying out investigations into the assassination, presented a report to court.-Sri Lanka Guardian
