President says he is not a comedy star -UNP

(April 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Palitha Range Bandara , UNP M.P., speaking to the media today (22 Apr) at the UNP media unit said, the President slinks from accepting the challenge offered to him by Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe for an open debate to enlighten the public on the true facts of the ceasefire agreement and the country’s economic muddle of which the Government is the architect. The President says , he is not a comedy star . It is refreshing news because ,at least he has realized the stark truth about himself at this belated stage of his reign : he is a tragic star inflicting only tragedies and economic miseries on the people from the day his Government came to power .

Keheliya Rambukwella , the Government's defense spokesman , and the Govt. issued an ultimatum in grand style to Prabhakaran to surrender before the 21st of April. Now, the ultimatum has ended without effect . But, what is perplexing is, Rambukwella himself has gone into hiding after the expiry of the ultimatum as he cannot be contacted anywhere to get his idea as to his next step. Government’s election gimmicks are so very cheap and plentiful just before the elections that even its underworld gangs are taking advantage of them to extort , intimidate and kill opposition candidates and supporters. Some of the UPFA candidates are openly violating election laws and using vicious violence trampling Democracy and freedom of the people with impunity , he added.

The police standards have descended to such a low level that they have become lackeys of politicians serving the Government politicians’ dastardly motives only, neglecting their duties to the public for which they are paid. To maintain a Police officer , the public is spending Rs. 75,000/- per month on every single officer . But these Officers are not serving the public who maintains them . They have found it most selfishly advantageous if they just serve the political needs of the Government politician , as he gets his promotions and all his favors by only stooping to the politicians which they have found is much easier than the public responsibilities.

The Government is making loud announcements over its State media round the clock of the civilians who have escaped into the Government's war safe zone. But, they are now being subjected to the worst suffering as the Government had not made any preparations to provide them with their basic needs, food , shelter and medicines .

Range Bandara must be the real comedian. After the UNP fiasco of Killinochchi and Medawachchi and making the Sri Lanka Army small at one stage, what kind of debate you are talking about. These guys are only jokers set up by the LTTE. When the country need more patriotism in the current war which could not be tackled by any Sri Lankan leader, at least now give the credit to Rajapaksa and keep quite. Every time you guys talk you make a clown of yourselves. What stupid CFA any body wants to talk. The UNP had all the opportunity when they were governing to table the CFA at the parliament. UNP when they were handing weapons to LTTE, and releasing all the containers with dangerous war materials in container loads….what is the information they gave to the public. They were hiding all the salient details with their LTTE counterparts and the NGOs who were operating in those areas. Mr. Banadara please goes and fish in the sea before you utter this nascence again.

There are many low level lives in this world other human beings have to put up with. But concentration of these pathetics namely Kottialles, Ranis, Ravis, Rangas, Tissas in a one party is hard to comprehend. These jokers never give up ... Captain Gamini J Perera thinks that LTTE is going to be decimated because it did not allow Ranil to come to power. Logic is that if they allowed voting, LTTE would not have come to this. What a pathetic mind this captain of a once true national party has?
