Jayalalitha’s Tamil Eelam dream blasted by Indian voters

(May 16, Jaffna, Sri Lanka Guardian) There will be no invasion of Sri Lanka from across the Palk Straits but Indian embassies may be exposed to attacks from “Cainicidal pro-LTTE Tamil protesters in some countries of the West. Now that Cainicidal LTTE has been brought to its knees in Sri Lanka, virtually wiped out, the legacy of terror has been left to the leader of Tiger International, KP or in his real name Selvarajah Pathmanathan. Already the Norwegian Eric Solheim is in contact with this man who is wanted as an international criminal and Ranil Wickremasinghe, the co-architect of the Tiger enclave of Wanni too is in Oslo now.

Jayalalitha wanted to take a past-her-cinema-days role, a kind of Jansi-ki-Rani she must have thought of herself and head an Indian Armed Force into Sri Lanka, capture the Rajapakasa brothers and Sarath Fonseka like how the Portuguese did to Sankilian and his family and hang them high at the Chinnaswamy Cricket Grounds in Chennai. Poor Jayalalitha, what the Indian voters have told her is not to meddle with the internal affairs of another country and even more the relationship that existed between the Bandaranaike family and New Delhi is a legacy that the Rajapaksa family has inherited.

It was also not a surprise Vaiko Gopalaswamy has been told to shut up and go home something Thirumavalavan had done long before the elections and the electorate showed its appreciation. But no more Canadian trips for Thirumavalavan and treats from Toronto’s Babu Catering, the Tiger philanthropists. If he does, there will be no political future for him in India and he will betray how own Dalit community.

The Indian electorate giving the best results to the ruling Congress coalition since 1991 has stated very clearly that India’s role in Sri Lanka was just and correct. In consequence, Sri Lanka will reciprocate in relationships as between two brother states that enjoy the inheritance of the same cultural traditions that go back to thousands of years of enrichment and furthermore, will be helped to solve Sri Lanka’s ethnic problems. This is very high in the priorities of India.

One can also envisage a great deal of development activities in the South Asian waters which must necessarily be consolidated to keep away western interests motivated by greed and domination. The reactions of countries like Great Britain, France and Germany exposed the motives of these countries in relation to the less developed countries and that is true of the United States too.

Madam Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State – and thank God she never became president of the United States – wants to deny the IMF loan to Sri Lanka but she is mindless about the millions spent on a phony war in Iraq and thousands and thousands of Iraqi and also Afghani civilians killed and displaced. They call this war against terrorism to which Cainicidal Prabhakaran contributed his expertise to kill.

If that is war against terrorism then what is the Sri Lankan military campaign against the LTTE? For her remark alone regarding the IMF loan, she has probably cast the first slight, slur and stain on the Barak Obama administration. We hope President Obama had chided her and even warned her not to indulge in such cheap remarks about a country that has shown the world how to deal with terrorism with the least possible collateral damage to the civilian population.

Sri Lanka and India can now look ahead for an excellent relationship between each other and the development of the South Asian region. This augurs well for both countries and their neighbours too. It is hoped Pakistan, a country destroyed essentially by the US, will rise up to this reality. The international focus scene should shift to South Asia to give a new hope to the world. This is predicted in Vedas of old.
