(May 18, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the military commanders, the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Civil Defence Force officially informed President Mahinda Rajapaksa that the military operations have been concluded in the north.
In a brief ceremony each of the commanders informed the president separately of the conclusion of the operations.
