(June 24, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Thursday filed nominations for the Vavuniya Urban Council Elections to be held sometime in August.
The Alliance will contest under the Illankai Tamil Arasukattchi symbol. The nominations were handed over to the Vavuniya Assistant Election Commissioner A.S. Karunanathi at the Distruict Secretariat by the TNA Parliamenterian N. Sivasakthy Ananathan and S. Vino Noharathalingam.
The TNA nomination lists include two female candidates. The mayoral nominee is S.N.G. Nathan. -Sri Lanka Guardian
