Northern results reveal the desperate position of the UPFA

To win 13 out of the 23 seats is a blow to the Government and President Rajapaksha

Shame on UPFA and the Government

(August 09, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) With the low voter turn out and 8 Seats won by the Illankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (TNA) and the 13 seats won by the UPFA who consists of Tamil militants reveal that the UPFA has lost the confidence of the people of the North.

The UPFA was desperate having no candidate to put forward in the North. It was then that they had deals and wheels within wheels with Tamil militant Parties like the EPDP to contest under the Symbol of the betel leaf.

Having won 13 seats after opening Lak Sathosa , and various investment ventures in the North is the clear indication that the UPFA is breathing its last through their life support machine-The Tamil Militants Groups like the EPDP. Whilst, with the UPFA leadership the Tamil militant Groups who contested under the UPFA praise the Government, it is reported that they have stated that they are the cause for generating new projects in the North.

Whilst after all the tamashas UPFA has 13 seats in the North, not one is from the SLFP- they are all borrowed players.

The present Government is desperate and on its last legs. A fall is imminent. A world renowned political analyst has stated that the Government and the President have only the support of their paramilitary groups who have their Tamil political parties and not the SLFP per se. That is why in their desperate last legs, they appointed a man like Karuna as the Vice President of the SLFP. Habing sent him to UK on a false Passport and having any involvement in the Passport scam, the Government shamelessly got him down and appointed him on the National list and made him the Vice President of the SLFP after Karuna has killed numerous Armed forces personnel and Buddhist monks. What a shame.

The victory claimed by the UPFA on the Jaffna election is just to boost their morale. It is not the victory of the UPFA but the victory of the Tamil militants. The 8 seats won by the Illankai Thamil Arasu Katchi is a clear indication that the Tamils have no confidence of this Government.

What did the government, SLFP and the UPFA think whilst getting 350,000 IDPs to suffer they thought they could win? What a desperate attempt. This is the beginning of the end.

What a pathetic shame !!!!!

This is nothing new of the Jaffna Tamil. He has always been a turn coat. They got the militant group LTTE in to Wanni so that they can live peaceful lives under the protection of Government forces. There was no infrastructure damage, but they prospered of the investment government was making in the north. The Armed Forces also contributed to massive income to Jaffna by way of their up keep. The IDP’s did not just appear in the hands of the government. It was the works of LTTE who extracted them when they were withdrawing from their positions. If you talk to these IDP you can find out that some of them have been in LTTE hands for more than 4 years. During this time none of these human rights organizations ever uttered a word about their plight. They were not identified as IDP at that time. The problem created by the LTTE fell on government lap, and graciously they have accepted that responsibility as these people are Sri Lankan Citizens. The so called Tamil Diaspora who contributed lavishly to buy weapons and ammunitions never offered a dime to take care of these IDP. Now how on earth they can talk about the IDP? Even by scoring a marginal win in Jaffna the government has proved the point of democracy. What about the other 75% Tamils living in the south. At least now they can walk the streets without the fear that their children will be snatched away by the LTTE for their petty objectives.

This writer has forgotten the cardinal truth that politicains are not angels. His sole attempt is to promote TNA & their by to give oxygen to extinguished LTTE butchers.Frankly,Political path has to start some where, no matter the low voter turn out or any other, Eastern Provine is the classic example as an eye opener for this writer to re think his rusted brain.
