Prabha’s death, KP arrest, not end of Tiger terror - Keheliya

(August 12, Kandy, Sri Lanka Guardian) Disposing of Velupillai Prabhakaran and the arrest of KP is not the end of LTTE terrorism. There may be disastrous elements still roaming about the country, Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare Minister Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella told a media conference at Polgolla on Monday (10).

There may be remnants of the LTTE terrorists such as suicide bombs and bomb explosions here and there. But those elements who support the LTTE here and abroad are fully aware that they would not be spared, Rambukwella said.

After the death of Velupillai Prabhakaran, LTTE supporters nationally as well as internationally made a vain attempt to show that KP (Kumaran Pathmanathan) was equal or stronger than Prabhakaran. But since KP is in the hands of Sri Lanka Security Authorities, the world is aware that any others trying to "show off" will meet with the same fate, he said.

Minister Rambukwella said that Kumaran Pathmanathan was disclosing names and where abouts of those here and abroad who were supporting the LTTE. He was disclosing very important information with regard to the functioning of the LTTE.

Some information KP was divulging was shocking. The information concerned money transactions of the LTTE international drug business and in many other areas, he said.

Minister Rambukwella briefed the media after addressing workshop for Development Officers of the Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare.
