(September 01, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian)A doctor who was charged with providing false information to the international media during the final phase of the Eelam war in the north was released on surety bail of Rs. 200,000 by the Colombo Chief magistrate, Nishantha Hapuarachchi.
The accused, Dr. Kankathurai Kedavan is alleged to have operated from Puthukuduirrippu hospital, in the then LTTE controlled area and provided distorted information to the media which was damaging to the country’s image. -Sri Lanka Guardian
