(October 26, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Colombo High Court today aquitted and discharged the publisher of the North Eastern Herald and his wife who were charged in the case in which Journalist J.S.Tissainayagam was sentenced for 20 years RI recently.
State Counsel Rohantha Abeysuriya informed Colombo High Court judge Kumudini Wickremesinghe that they were withdrawing the charges against the publisher V.Yaseedharan and his wife V. Madhumalathy.
Court said that there were doubts that the publisher had made a voluntary statement in the case. -Sri Lanka Guardian
