(October 02, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi brought to the notice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of an incident that occurred this afternoon at which a mob comprising 40-50 persons had arrived at the main gate of the High Commission. Around 10 persons had forcibly entered the High Commission premises causing some damage to its premises. They had been holding placards in English which read such as “Retrive Kachativu from Sri Lanka”, “stop killing Tamilnadu fishermen”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi have conveyed Sri Lanka Government’s grave concerns and requested the Indian Government to conduct investigations into this incident. -Sri Lanka Guardian
