An Advise: Sarath will get more votes if he suspends international flights if he wins

By Tilak Dharmapala

(January 14, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The election fever is hyphening and violence is dominating and claims and counter-claims are giving all the indication who will win the election.

The President Mahinda Rajapakse has become desperate and doing everything possible to out manoeuvre his opponent Rt Gen Sarath De Silva. We have seen one death already and possibly many more to come.

Independent reports confirm President’s band wagon is getting ready and packing their bags to board the next available flight after the election results on 27 January 2010.

Of the many issues spoken openly, corruption and war crimes of President’s men are the issues that are making the travel agency business vibrant in Colombo.

The President is so desperate that he sent his wife to Jaffna to appeal for Tamil votes for her husband from the Archdeacon of Northern Province.

Will the rival candidate reading the tensed pulse of the President tell loudly that all flights out of Colombo will be temporarily suspended to arrest the unscrupulous band wagon of Mahinda leaving the country?

A public announcement by Sarath will make these uncouples to board the first available flights before the election. This will help a genuine campaign and violence less election. The pistol carrying President’s buddies Sajin Gunawardene and Dr Mervin Silva will be the first to board the planes.
