Time and time again 90% of Sri Lankan Tamils, local or overseas, are showing their hypocrisy rather ‘true colours’ – Part One

“Did you believe that Vany Kumar is a LTTE ‘Foreign Legion’ member and DBS a ‘Sympathizer’ “ ?

(January 10, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): There are only 10 percent of good Tamils in Sri Lanka or Sri Lankan origin. They are easy to identify. They live, without harboring the separatist thoughts, among Sinhalese in the south and east knowing very well the reasons why Sinhalese and Tamils are living in discord (as a matter of fact I know of my cardiologist friend and his doctor wife who went to live in Canada first then to England, and they had had enough, and RETURNED TO SRI LANKA. Now they live peacefully in Dehiwala and work in Colombo!). Or they leave Sri Lanka and stay out of terrorist politics, like Professor Sivaprakasmpillai, a subject matter expert or an authority on wave theory, who used to teach us, electrical and electronics undergrads.

In 1983 he saw that the coming colors were no good and left the Electronics Department of University of Moratuwa for Singapore for good. The unfortunate reasons are Vigneswarans, Sivajilingams, Thondamans, Ponnambalams, Pasupathis, and a whole slew of ungrateful Tamils who only need as ‘much’ as benefits possible; without stepping up to the plate or table with options or viable solutions for all the communities to live in concord, they ‘play the Heisman’, and go on harping on horror stories such the conduct of final phase of the humanitarian operations, the treatment of ‘detainees’ (IDPs) and the High Security Zones (HSZ), the past killings and disappearances etc to evoke sympathies. That is the only way the ‘economic refugees’ (bogus asylum seekers), DBS (the ‘sweet’ empathizer turned a ‘twittering’ sympathizer) or Vany Kumar of LTTE Foreign Legion (Légion étrangère) can melt the hearts and sway the minds of unsuspecting westerners to force their governments to grant ‘Permanent Residency’ visas so that Tamils and their generations to follow can live a very cushy life promoting separatism and dying or yearning for another violent backlash, like the unfortunate one in July 1983 to continue the vicious cycle of violence, asylum, PRs, cushy life and hatred.

Sri Lanka can make a Diego Garcia out of an island, Delft is my choice for that, in the North and depopulate the present inhabitants, like UK did to Diego Garcians, or relocate the inhabitants with adequate compensation to the other islands so that GOSL can accommodate those ungrateful rascals of Sri Lanka, who should be prosecuted and packed off forever to that Island and even their kin should accompany them. They had free education and medical care, and not forgetting the two measures of free rice in the past, out of tax payers money of majority Sinhalese, went on many overseas trips with the same money, enjoyed all perks for them individually and for their opportunistic families with the same money and has the audacity to say this now. They will no doubt pay in hell, the shameless, spineless and the ungrateful rascals. Hope this article will circulate and reach each and every one of ungrateful Tamils. Their utterances, felicitously and inadvertently, made in the past and recently in the media are Freudian slips for the majority or GOSL pay very close attention and take good note of in order to brief western government officials who ask or press for a peaceful solution to so-called ‘perceived’ ethnic issues.

A Freudian slip, or parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is interpreted as occurring due to the interference of some unconscious ('dynamically repressed') wish, conflict, or train of thought.

Here is a real story, as a soldier in order to keep my physical fitness to pass twice annul military physical fitness test I make it a point run wherever I am in the world, deployed or on vacation. In June 2007 I was in Wooldridge area, close to Wonderland, city of Vaughan, Toronto, Canada visiting my wife’s friends. I am pretty sure DBS has been there and seen that! They live in a brand new housing complex of a few hundred of units, mostly owned by Italian immigrants who own businesses in Canada. At that time going price of a unit was about six hundred thousand (600,000.00) Canadian dollars! I ran around this housing complex for two weeks. I saw some Tamil families getting ready to move in rather ‘warm the house’. I would say this, their appearance, the attire and slippers they wore did not indicate to me that they were CARDIOLOGIST or TECH SUPPORT Tamils with a high earning capacity! It dawned on me, right there, why Tamils need to charge the Sinhalese of persecution, the military and police of human rights violations, the lawmakers of communal politics, and the monks of extremism (it is strange that vast majority of Tamils do not look inwards and blame themselves). That way the bogus asylum seekers with sob stories, who had almost nothing, education or wealth, in Sri Lanka, can live large on the hog! This is mainly thanks to lax immigration laws of the respective governments for ‘bogus asylum seekers’ aka ‘economic refugees’ with cock and bull stories, who are supported by unscrupulous human rights activists who shed crocodile tears, dishonest immigration lawyers who collect the top dollars, the pseudo religious leaders and documentary directors like Arnestad who hide the fact that Tamils are mainly ‘Hindus’ but to gain sympathy tell the world that Tamils are ‘Christians’ (remember how it was ‘advertised’ of the main characters Dharsika and Puhalshudar of My Daughter the Terrorist documentary), and the terrorist politicos who espouse separatism.

Things I am going to bring later to light in this article are; DBS’ apparent migration from a ‘sweet separatist empathizer‘ to ‘twittering terrorist sympathizer’; targeted or extra judicial killings; the Vany K‘s journey from an ostensible angel of mercy to be the Propaganda Secretary of the LTTE Foreign Legion and a member of a violent Transnational Drealam and her prurient curiosity; stress positions and IDPs; HSZ; All Ceylon Tamil Congress’ decision to boycott election; Sivajilingam a rebel without a cause; the Tamils be damned but ‘benefits only’ Vigneswaran model; Five Ws (Who, What, when, Where, why) of a massacre and a genocide; what would Jesus do (WWJD) rather a ‘soldier’ do!

I have read a lot of articles written by DBS. And I have been reading his tweeter bundles too. It is becoming clear to me that he is migrating from a ‘separatist empathizer’ to be a ‘terrorist sympathizer’. He can, now, easily be a voice for a Drealam in the absence of threat from LTTE, and confirms that ‘Blood is thicker than water’!

It was enough was enough for me once I read his recent article titled “Surrendered LTTE Leaders Were Killed by Sri Lanka Special Forces”. I, for one, know too well the tactics or ruses LTTE and other international terrorists resort to. Not only I posses the knowledge of them and their methods or modus operandi but have the personal experience against LTTE and other international terrorist networks and insurgent groups in the world. I know DBS is a journalist but I am an active soldier. There is a vast factual difference in what one writes from the information and misinformation, interviews, handouts and briefings or leads and misleads given by so called ‘moles’, ‘sources’, or the military spokesmen, and what a soldier, who has moved, shot and communicated smelling cordite under fire and amid explosions, knows as the ground situation or realties and what he has encountered or experienced.

With his article, and articles like his, he and others like him do not want to let it go and move on. They collectively want to show the final stages of the humanitarian operation [what we call Operations Other Than War (OOTW)] to save innocent Tamil lives and the military operation to destroy each and every Tiger whether in Striped fatigues, in sarong or verti were ‘really’ a well-planned and calculated move to kill as much as Tamil civilians in cold blood to ‘perpetrate genocide’.

By the way if it is was the case, alleged by the writers like DBS, why on Sri Lanka security forces have saved nearly a three hundred thousand IDPs (detainees) creating a logistical nightmare and an episode for ‘the economic refugees’ in the western capitals and other part of the world so that these IDPs would shed crocodile tears to fool and hoodwink the gullible and kind westerners, who would influence their public officials to issue more and more ‘permanent residency visas’. Those westerners would get carried away with emotions and press their respective governments to take diplomatic and, military, legal or economic action against Sri Lanka, and not realize or it will be too late, until the members of KKS and Kannan gangs club their sons and daughters with a base ball bat or cricket bat to death in their neighborhoods or around their children’s high schools.

Almost all the arm-chair critics or Monday morning quarterbacks have not served in the military, let alone fighting on a battlefield, or had personal experience in anti-terrorism operations. Sri Lanka Security Forces had to conduct a very difficult humanitarian operation and at the same time wage a thorough and professional anti-terrorism campaign at mass or a higher scale.

It is very unfortunate sometimes because we are not history professors we tend to lack the knowledge of real and true massacres and genocides in the past in the countries that Tamils would like to take lead in a UN inquiry against Sri Lanka.

Long before the live video footage of the female suicide bomber, who pulled the switch at the Minister Devanada’s office hidden in her bra, was available, and long before the pregnant suicide bomber jumped on the Army commanders’ car we in the military have been so familiar with the ‘innocent Tamils’ wanting to surrender.

Ask a senior naval officer, preferably from Executive Branch, how innocent fishermen threw up hands in a vallam when a Dvora’ or a FAC (Fast Attack Craft) on patrol in Sri Lanka’s ‘Cordon Sanitaire’ approached to check a vallam out; only to receive an RPG round fired, between legs of a man with his hands up in a sign of surrender, by a Sea Tiger laying on floorboards. Sri Lanka Navy has lost a number of craft and good men this way. The similar instances and true examples are aplenty though the countrymen are not aware of the dastard acts or pretensions of the ‘innocent Tamils’ (Tigers in mufti)’ ‘on the verge of surrender’. These instances have been no news to the military circles. So they go by the past experiences and have to be safe than sorry. So Sri Lankan Security Forces look at everybody with equal care.

Ask ex-Major V.N.R. Rajasekara, a fine and knowledgeable Signal Officer from Dharmaraja, who was in charge of the Communication Package’ when the British Queen visited Sri Lanka last, how he lost his brother-in-law, Major Hemal Mendis of Gemunu Watch, in Mannar area. Maj Mendis wanted to avoid the collateral damage (or avoid killing a Tamil mother and her kid in cold blood!) in a house clearing operation. He saw a woman supporting a child on hand standing in a doorway. He closed in to move the mother and child away. The next thing happened was a Tiger threw a hand grenade hiding behind her. The grenade got entangled in his vest and blasted him to death. To save space I do not want to describe the death of Lt Bahar of Sri Lanka Navy, a famous diving officer, in very similar circumstances.

Unfortunate thing that the majority of Sri Lankan Tamils or their western or other sympathizers and empathizers do not at least give grudging credit to these humane and human acts of military officers sacrificing their own lives and limbs.

For an argument’s sake WHAT IF Sri Lankan military officers went by the scale of Lt William Calley’ My Lai massacre (many of the victims were sexually abused, beaten, tortured, and some of the bodies were found mutilated) i.e. If Each and Every Sri Lankan Army Officer Ordered and Led a Killing Spree of 347 to 504 Unarmed Tamil Civilians , and above all those Tamil civilians, majority of whom were women, children, and elderly people, then there has been no need for the government run’ barbed wire prisons’ the LTTE sympathizers or Tamils who demand a separate state speak so ill of. There would not have been a single soul to place in them. Then international media would not have heard of the ‘Menik Farm’! Then GOSL would not have faced a logistical nightmare of epic portions and full frontal international verbal attacks, subtle sanctions and condemnations.

By the way IF a Sri Lankan army officer led a brutal massacre of 347 innocent Tamil civilians in the Nanthikadal and GOSL convicted him and commuted his sentence the way Lt William Calley was convicted and his sentence commuted (He was convicted, on March 29, 1971, of premeditated murder for ordering the shootings. He was initially sentenced to life in prison. Two days later, however, President Nixon made the controversial decision to have Calley released from prison, pending appeal of his sentence. Calley's sentence was later adjusted, so that he would eventually serve four and one-half months in a military prison at Fort Bennining) Sri Lankan Tamils-sympathetic western nations may have ‘nuked’ poor Sri Lanka!

I quote here from the DBS’ article “The tiger leaders were also given a rough route to follow. This led to positions manned by the 58 division commanded by Shavendra Silva. Both the 59 commanded by Prasanna Silva and the 58 were in the Vellamullivaaikkaal area. But the tigers preferred to surrender to the 58 rather than 59 as they felt the former was more humane or less brutal.”

I would tell you this too. I know of MG Prasanna Silva and his brother Sujeewa and MG Shavendra Silva and his brother, DA in Pakistan, GP CPT Ajantha Silva personally more than their service commander knows of them. DBS tries to paint a picture of Prasanna as a brutal and inhuman killer. If you would like to know the personal details, how human and humane Prasanna was I when he was 15 years old; a Major; a Colonel, here they are;

1. He is a very decent guy from a very decent family. His father was an engineer at Lipton in 1977. When I played football with Prasanna in U15 Team at Ananda, and we had outstation fixtures his father was kind enough to 'arrange' an 'outstation inspection' so that he could shove all the team members in his station wagon and company van so that our football master could save the bus fare to feed the team, as the College could afford only meager 25 rupees to buy cool drinks for us!

2. For the very first time Sri Lanka Navy undertook to train SF officers in diving in Trincomalee in 90s. There was one officer, 2LT Yahampath, and five soldiers in the batch. Prasanna was a major then, and the only officer to visit from Naula, Matale to check on the trainees!

3. As a Colonel, on a visit to see how one of his junior officers undergoing a staff course and his family were doing he realized they did not have a TV, he went home and brought a TV for them on that day itself!

4. Bogus human rights activists, media activists and countless vociferous others would not know why (but they must be eternally thankful to him) he was given a punishment transfer to the Kosgama Timber Depot and his due promotion delayed, Sri Lanka’s version of ‘punishment transfer to Siberia and depraving the seniority so that media savvy TV war heroes could supersede ’! He spoke truth to power and became a ‘Conscientious Objector’ when he was asked to undertake certain kind of operations, I am told!

He is a career SF officer, as we know the real SF guys are 'silent professionals'. He is very media and public shy. He is very low maintenance. I know for a fact he is very firm and fair in peace time. Also he is firm, fair and INEXORALBLE in war! What else do you, or does a nation expect of a professional military officer, for that matter from a Special Forces officer? Do you expect Sri Lankan military officers to suffer from ‘Cognitive Dissonance’, sort of not to kill ‘Tigers (the terrorist)’ but to kill ‘tigers (the beast)’? I do not think so! I know for a fact that every Sri Lankan military officer stands ready to kill each and every one of ‘Tigers’ in combat. That is what they are meant to do, enlisted and paid and maintained for!

My attempt here is not to build Prasanna’s image; by the way he has a very solid one. Everyone in the know, or military knows about it. The statistics speak for themselves. The lowest death and casualty rates in the Divisions he commanded, most number of the High Value Targets (HVT) destroyed or captured etc.

The other thing that shows DBS’ new life to be a leading voice for separatist cause is his aversion to the truth. In his five thousand two hundred seventy odd words article he does not mention at least once that Nadesan was the IGP of LTTE! Why does he resort to prevarication and obfuscation?

We know that LTTE leaders had been tried in absentia for the heinous crimes they committed. They also knew about it. Instead of surrendering to police to be treated according to conventions and the laws of land and imprisoned or hanged in the Magazine Prison they decided to play hide and seek.

GOSL had to do what a special Colombian police task force, known as the Search Bloc trained supported by the members of US Combat Applications Group and Navy SEALs did to Pablo Escobar, the billionaire godfather of international cocaine trafficking, as he attempted to flee his hideout in the drug dealing center of Medellin, Colombia. Escobar, leader of the Medellin drug cartel, was killed as he and his bodyguards tried to elude police by climbing onto a rooftop of the safe house where they were hiding. He opened fire and was met by volleys of return fire from some of the dozens of police and troops who had stalked the drug kingpin to a house on the west side of the city of Medellin.

Here is another example Sheikh Ahmed Ismail Hassan Yassin (1937 – 22 March 2004) was a founder of Hamas, an Islamist Palestinian paramilitary and political party. Yassin also served as the spiritual leader of the organization. Hamas claimed responsibility for a number of suicide attacks targeting Israeli civilians, leading to its being characterized by a number of western states as a terrorist organization.

I can cite so many operations like those, from the targeted killing of pediatrician Rantissi to the recent killing of Arturo Beltran Leyva, head of the Beltran Leyva cartel (Mexico’s most notorious drug cartels) by Mexico’s navy in Punta Vista Hermosa, and every operation in between.

I know a lot of human rights activists, people who cannot discern fact from reality, would decry this type of operations and this way of killing the most wanted. They would ask where the ‘due’ process was. But what they fail to understand is that lawful governments give these culprits, criminals, and ample time to peacefully surrender to authorities by themselves or through a lawyer. But these rascals decided to crook a finger at the authorities thinking that they would die a natural death. They were highly and sadly mistaken!

When the writ of Chief Justice of a country does not run or is not respected by scum of the society then the Chief Executive (President) of that country signs an ‘Executive Order’ (I coin and register it ‘Execution Order’!), after much deliberations and taking into considerations of the Courses of Action (CoAs), which were developed with the help of Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), provided to him by the Special Operations Command. That is the ‘very’ ‘due process’ terrorists and criminals all over the world understand, but sorry to say, it is a bit late but they still have time to surrender! Then the mission will be given to, and accepted without hesitation by brave officers like late Lt Col Lalith Jayasinghe of 2SF, operators of the Special Air Service of UK or the Sayeret Matkal of Israel!

In Yassin’s case, he was a quadriplegic who was nearly blind, had used a wheelchair since a sporting accident at the age of 12. But he was assassinated by an Israeli pilot of a helicopter gunship in 2004. It is not time for an operator to think whether the target is an invalid terrorist, a terrorist turned politico or a drug kingpin who was a Robin Hood! It is not the time for an operator think about his target’s waving a ‘white verti or sarong’ or passing urine in or defiling his verti or sarong when he is about to press the trigger. An operator’s failure to liquidate the target immediately results in three things;

1. A terrorist gets the chance to buy the time to react by resorting to a ruse that will result in the operator’s demise (Remember, elsewhere I mentioned how a sea tiger fired an RPG in a surrendering ruse!).

2. The failure of the mission or not fulfilling the Executive Order (Remember, how Prabakaran escaped during the Vadamarachi campaign!).

3. Allowing him/her to a live cushy life or be in clover and continue death dealing at a higher scale. The operator knows, and past experience or history is such, if he allows the terrorist to escape to freedom it is definitely going to come back to haunt him, others and the nation (Remember, Wijeweera the Planter breeding children, raising dogs and hatching plots to kill, maim and destroy and to set back Sri Lanka’s bright future by decades all the while living a very comfortable life and increasing his waistline! Moreover Sri Lanka Navy had to commit a lot of resources, otherwise could have been used for fight against terrorism, through SLNS Tissa in Trincomalee to safeguard his family, provide for and send his children to school etc.).

In the case of Pabelo, Beltran, and Yassin they might have also waved their spoilt but ‘ white’ underwear at the operators, in order to surrender, when they realized that justice was about to be served in a split second. The operators had a mission, one mission only that was to accomplish the mission. The terrorists, criminals, and murderers were fully aware that ample time, well in advance, was given to surrender to the authorities. They crooked the finger at and said ‘Foxtrot Uniform (FU) or Foxtrot Oscar (FO)!’ to the authorities! They never thought the operators could and would zero in on them. A terrorist can run but cannot hide forever, like Lord Buddha said ‘one cannot escape his suffering even in glen or glade!

Moreover while conducting national security missions the operators have to wary about the surroundings and hidden dangers too.

At the end of the day, after a very successful mission, an operator turns in his weapons to the armory, conducts After Action Review with rest of the team, debriefs the superiors, smokes a victory cigar with fellow operators, goes home and kisses his wife, takes a shower, checks the homework of his children or picks the children up from swimming practices, drinks a beer or two as nothing happened, then he goes to bed. He sleeps well as he has no guilt feelings whatsoever of killing a terrorist in national defence! When he wakes up in the morning to read newspapers, to watch TV for news and weather, or switch on his PC or laptop to check his e-mails he sees CNN breaking the news of his successful operation yesterday. He smiles and sighs and tells to himself ‘The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday’!

To be continued ……
