Fonseka's health condition is to be getting worse

(March 30, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Retired four- star General of the Sri Lankan army, Mr. Sarath Fonseka's health condition is reported to be getting worse.

According to the statement issued by the Sarath Fonseka Media Unit, “repeated requests by the family to allow his regular doctor it visit him, or to allow for an air purifier has been denied by the government.

Furthermore, even though the Supreme Court and the Attorney General have allowed family members other than Mrs. Fonseka to take him meals the Army Commander is not allowing anyone else to take his food.”

“When Mrs. Fonseka has to attend outstation rallies, all those authorized to take him food have been denied entry.

The General has been treated for these respiratory issues since the attack on his life on 25th April 2006, at the Army Headquarters in Colombo.”

“Due to this attack, he now requires a specific diet, and breathing exercise routine to maintain his health. Now, his respiratory illness could lead to an infection in the lungs.

The Navy Doctor allocated for him had changed the inhaler 3 days ago. Since then no doctor has visited the General.

We are saddened and disturbed by these low and illegal tactics of the government and current Army Commander.
