(March 08, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Many people thought that President Rajapakse is a man with some sort of magnanimity and people never expected him to be a petty minded man. However, it is a fact that the commemorative plaque erected at Killinochchi with Gen Fonseka’sname engraved has been demolished and rebuilt with Gen Fonseka’s name is removed. What a shameful and despicable act. Whatever said and done, by Gen Fonseka after the war was ended, he was a true son of mother Lanka, whose dedication and commitment was a decisive factor that brought the downfall of ruthless LTTE. People know that he had uttered some damaging remarks after fall out for some reasons, probably only Rajapakse trio know. President Rajapakse and his two borthers, before resorting to take vengeance from Gen Fonseka, should know better that they themselves are responsible for loosing a committed true son of mother Lanka.

If this disgraceful act was committed without the knowledge of the President Rajapakse, the right thinking people of Mother Lanka expect President Rajapakse to make a public statement that he is absolutely unaware of the act committed and order Gen Foneseka’s name reinserted in the commemorative plaque at Killinochchi forthwith.
