Did KP help Sri Lanka to sink LTTE arms supply ships?

Is the arrest of KP in Malaysia was a well planned effort between KP and Gota with the help of the Malaysian government?

(July 02, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Dr Arunakumar, one of the so-called controversial LTTE delegates who went to Sri Lanka, in his public statement has stated the full extent of the delegate’s engagement with the Government of Sri Lanka.

Two comments in is interview attracted my attention and made me to think who the real chums to stand shoulder to shoulder to finish off the LTTE last year. The media widely reported it is the team work of Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapase and the Army Commander Sarath Fonseka that ended the destiny of the LTTE. Whilst the ground level coordination between the Defence Secretary and the Army Commander cannot be disputed, Dr Arunakumar’s revelations if correct expose another covert partnership that helped the defeat of the LTTE.

Dr Arnuakumar states in his recording that whilst the delegation was discussing with LTTE’s international arms procurement man Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP, Defence Secretary had arrived. KP was head-bowing and welcomed the Defence Secretary. This scenario speaks volume of their relationship between the two and explains the relationship between them. During the interview Dr Arunakumar further states as told by the Defence Secretary that he had met KP in 1996.

If these statements are true (I am not going to dispute as it is something that happened in front of eight other so-called LTTE delegates) it raises many questions about the modus operandi of KP and his credible role as a LTTE man.

- - Is the arrest of KP in Malaysia was a well planned effort between KP and Gota with the help of the Malaysian government?
- As part of the plan, has Sri Lank given luxury residence for KP in the prestigious Colombo 7?
- Is the Trans-national Government for Tamils he engineered a prelude to break the LTTE internationally?
- Was he responsible for passing the information about LTTE ships sunk in the mid seas by the Sri Lankan forces? It must be noted India has been accused of helping Sri Lanka to bomb the LTTE ships. But if Dr Arunakumar’s statement is accurate it gives a different dimension to the issues.
