An attempted rapist army officer attacked

(September 26, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) According to the Tamil website ‘Thenee.com’, an army officer who had attempted to enter a house in Killinochchi had been confronted by a father of three unmarried women.

The incident took place in the No.1 house in the 10th housing complex in Kanagambihai Kulam in Kilinochchi. According to the news, the soldier had attempted to enter the house where three unmarried women were living. The father of the women had given a chase to the soldier and attacked him with a knife several times.

It is reported the incident took place in the night of 23 September 2010. When the father realised someone is attempting to enter the house, he had taken a knife with him and chased the intruder. The man had run ahead and hid behind a rock and then started to attack the father.

The angered father had repeatedly stabbed the soldier. Unable to withstand the attack, the soldier started to run with several injuries. As he was running, the culprits shoe got hooked to the spiked fence. He left his shoe behind and ran away with his injuries.

Following this incident a convoy of army had visited the place and had taken the shoe away and had made inquiries and have confirmed it is that of the soldier. They had told the father that they should report any such incidences to them in the future.

The news further states the public had seen the injured soldier been taken away to the nearby hospital in a tractor by the soldiers on the 24 September. Tell a Friend
