(September 06, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) A Tamil family from London whom returned from their visit to Jaffna, Sri Lanka few days ago has confirmed their terrifying ordeal of confronting some gun carrying youngsters in their family house in Kokuvil. About a dozen of balaclavas wearing Tamil youth arriving at their house in motor bicycles had created an atmosphere of fear for the inmates.

The threatening gun carrying youth have asked the inmates to co-operate with them or face the consequence. They had come in search of a person who was not resident at the house. After fearful altercations, the paramilitary men came to know that they had visited the wrong house.

After apologising to the inmates, the paramilitary men had forced their way into the neighbour’s house and had forcefully taken a youth in the pillion on a motorbike.

The mother of the family was very distraught and said, ‘please don’t go to Jaffna, please don’t go to Jaffna. It is bad there still’. She was so distraught and fearful that her voice was still rambling following her experience. The family had visited Jaffna after about fifteen years.

The husband and the father of the family said that he had come to know it was the leading paramilitary group associated with the government that had undertaken the raid and did not want to name the group in fear of retribution for their relatives in Jaffna.
