Dancing Queen permanently joins the Minister

(December 19, Jaffna, Sri Lanka Guardian) The controversial Ankayatkanni Selvarajah k/a Dancing Queen, who had retuned to the (EPDP) fold following the defeat of LTTE has got back to the EPDP’s Jaffna base permanently.

Unable to cope with the pressures of the debtors in London, the unemployed benefit claimant was facing hostilities from the community for her move to join the EPDP and her awful mouth. She was said to have been spat at in the South London streets and rudimentary comments were made on her in public. Since her return from her previous visit to the EPDP quarters in August 2009, she avoided engaging in public gatherings.

According to a close circle, she has confirmed personal and emotional attachment to Minister Douglas Devananda, and has said she is feeling very low without him.

Ankayatkanni was a former activist of the EROS and was collecting funds for the group in the late 1970’s. She then joined the EPRLF with Douglas Devananda and soon left for India fearing assassination by the LTTE. From India, she went to the United Kingdom and claimed political asylum in the mid 1980’s.

She was supporting the EPRLF from UK and changed allegiance and joined the LTTE camp. She was a vociferous campaigner of the LTTE and would not tolerate any criticism of the group. She will butt into any life radio discussion programmes and espouse the cause of the LTTE. She was a well known street campaigner of the LTTE until its defeat.

With the wind blowing favourably for her, she fast moved to the EPDP camp and is said be well looked after by the Minister cum paramilitary leader in Jaffna.
