Four people including two children killed, several abducted in Dera Bugti operation: BRP

( February 13, Balochistan, Sri Lanka Guardian) A fresh military operation is continuing in several surrounding areas of Dera Bugti and there are reports of killings and abductions.

According to a press statement by Sher Mohammad Bugti, a central spokesman of the Baloch Republican Party, the US congressional Hearing on Balochistan has triggered the Pakistan military to accelerate their offensives in Balochistan, particularly in Dera Bugti.

Mr Bugti said that a fresh military operation has been initiated in Zamurdan, Jatero Rekho, Zenkoh, Pirkoh, Toba, Marav, and Hairden pat areas of Dera Bugti.

“Mir Ahmad Bugti and two children were killed and at least ten tribesmen have been abducted during the new offensives in Toba area of Dera Bugti. The life of the abducted men is grave danger as it is feared that military forces will torture them to death like hundreds of other abducted Baloch activists across Balochistan”, read Mr Bugti’s statement.

The BRP spokesman said that Mir Ahmad Bugti’s family gave numerous sacrifices; his brother Raheemo Bugti was wounded whereas his wife and father Talo Bugti were killed during military operation in 2005.

“One man has been killed in Jetro Rekho area of Dera Bugti and several houses were set on fire in the same area by Pakistani security forces. Many houses have been demolished in HairDeen pat region of Jafarabad and dozens of residents have been detained”, added Mr Sher Mohammd Bugti

The BRP leader said that only debates and discussion were not enough; America and the International Community should play an effective role by practically intervening in Balochistan to stop the genocide of Baloch people.
