( April 10, 2012, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Kumar Gunaratnam, who was reported to have been abducted has been released by the abductors, Police said.
"He has been reportedly pushed off from a van in an location in Colombo and thereafter surrendered to the Police", police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.
He said Gunaratnam has been handed over to the Australian High Commission officials as he holds Australian citizenship. "He is due to leave the country and currently is at the Airport", he added.
Gunaratnam is also known as Noel Mudalige .
Details of the statement made to the police has not been revealed as yet.
