Unbelievable, England win its first Cricket World Cup

Australia beat New Zealand in the last World Cricket Cup in 2015.

Never in the history of World Cup Cricket was there a super-over drama the decider of the result of an international cricket tournament.

England beat New Zealand in stunning World Cup Cricket at Lords after been drawn 241 all out against New Zealand 241/8, in the 50 overs, on Sunday 14 July 2019.

England won the match and the Cup in an astonishing one run victory tie breaker 6 ball Super Over.
England was runners up three times in 1979,1987 and 1992.


It was a hard fought game in a tough wicket.

However, there was a lot of preparation by England Coach Paul Farbrace, England Manager Andrew Strauss and others, including an incredible amount of hard work and fingers crossed till the last minute, by the teams and the spectators.

Ben Stokes was the player of the match while West Indian Jofra Archer was the bowler who turned the game with his bowling in the Super Over.

What New Zealand lacked in winning the current 2019 competetion, they made up by being cool, calm and civilized, after bouncing back from three successive defeats in the tournament.

The ICC Cricket World Cup dates back to 1977.

The next World Cup Cricket competition will be held in India in 2023.
