What Keith Vas MP does not want to understand!

(December, 06, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) The LTTE website tamilnet in its news datelined 28 November 2007 confirmed three British parliamentarians namely Rt Hon Keith Vas MP, Virendra Sharma MP and Joan Marie Ryan MP had addressed the Hero’s Day celebrations of the LTTE organised by its front British Tamil Forum in London.

Keith Vas MP is the Chairman of the newly formed Parliamentary pressure group for the Sri Lankan Tamils is accused of LTTE bias and not representing the wider Tamil views to be fair in his dealings. The tamilnet quoting his speech at the Excel Centre confirmed Keith Vas as saying: "I can totally understand the demand of some Tamils for an independent state. These calls will only get louder and louder unless there is just peace,"

His comment that only ‘some Tamils’ are demanding an independent implying many are not confirm his position he has taken to support the minority view. He has come under criticism by many independent Tamil organisations in London. ‘Having established a parliamentary pressure group to represent the genuine wider views of the Tamils, how can Keith Vas MP only speak for the LTTE’ asked Rajan of Harrow Tamil Welfare Association. Keith Vas MP came under criticism for using the wider ‘Tamil’ name to espouse the cause of the ‘LTTE’.
