Dismiss Karunanidhi's Regime in Tamil Nadu : Swamy

(January, 19, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) The President of well known Political Party in Tamil Nadu the Janata Party Subramanian Swamy on Saturday urged the Central government to dismiss the DMK government in Tamilnadu for going easy on LTTE in the State.

Addressing media persons in Chennai, Swamy alleged that the DMK government has been supporting the cause of the LTTE for his personal interests.

On Ram Sethu issue, the Janata Party leader said that he would file a new interlocutory application next week in the Supreme Court seeking the complete scrapping of Sethu Samudram Ship Channel Project (SSCP).

Swamy wondered that when the Supreme Court could permit the conduct of jallikattu on the ground of religious sentiments, why not for SSCP as it involves religious beliefs of one billion Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains the worldover.

‘ Scrapping of jallikattu would affect only one district of India. Hence the principle of religious sentiments applied even more for SSCP,’ he asserted. In his forthcoming new book titled, ‘Ram Sethu - A symbol of National Unity,’ he said the claim of the Union Shipping Minister TR Baalu that the project would be an economic boon to the Tamilnadu was based on bogus and cooked-up data.

Swamy said he would write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to prosecute Baalu under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code for missappropriating public funds for private gain.

On Prime Minister’s recent China visit, he said that no new ground had been broken by the tour.
