(March 28, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka Guardian) A cache of arms, including suicide belts and C-4 explosive, was recovered from a tea estate in Kandapola, in Nuwara Eliya, by a special team, police said.
Police sources said that a special police team from the Terrorist Investigation Department (TID) arrested an LTTE suspect along with the arms. Among the items recovered were 26 kilos of C-4 explosive, one suicide jacket, six suicide belts, seven grenades and detonators.
The arrest had been made following the interrogation of an LTTE suspect. Police are conducting further investigations to arrest more suspects in connection with the latest recovery.
