New Container Terminal Management System

(March 10, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has signed a contract Agreement for the implementation of a new Container Terminal Management System (CTMS) at the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) of the Colombo Port.

Contract Agreements were signed between Access International (Pvt) Ltd, the local counterpart for Navis LLC headquartered in Oakland, California in the USA and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority for implementing a new Container Terminal Management System for its flagship terminal JCT and the New North Pier (NNP) terminal recently.

This multi-million-rupee worth project signifies a major landmark in SLPA’s development endeavours to keep up with the global trend and to rise as an “e-port” or a “Superior Service e-Port” from a mere traditional service port outlook. While moving ahead with its Corporate Strategy to capture the container volume growth in the region, the SLPA anticipates by this initiative to convert its internal operational capabilities to criteria that may lead to competitive advantage and market access.
