Sri Lanka invites local constructors to join its Qatar project

(March 10, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Ministry of Construction and Engineering Services of Sri Lanka invited local construction companies to take part in a housing project undertaken by them in Doha, Qatar.

The invitation followed the recently signed contract by the Ministry with a construction company in Qatar to build 345 luxury houses in the Middle East.

According to the agreement, the Ministry undertakes a project worth over 13 billion rupees that gives direct employment to 1,600 Sri Lankans.

All the raw materials are to be shipped from Sri Lanka and the Ministry is looking for local companies engaged in landscaping, tiling, construction of aluminium structures, painting, electrical work and construction to take part in the project.
