Foreign Minister frisked by police?

“It is alleged that after providing various explanations to the Italian authorities, Mr Bogollagama had entered the meeting room designated for the heads of state. He then realised that their was no additional seat for him to occupy, but Italian officials had later provided a chair for him behind the president after he had provided ingenious explanations.”

(September 07, New Delhi, Sri Lanka Guardian) Further to an article by Namini Wijedasa (An Echo Of Nullius Filius ) about foreign Minister Bogollagama's antics and escapades, there is amusement at the highest circles in Sri Lanka, that the minister was thoroughly frisked by the Italian police during the World Food Summit in Rome, earlier this year.

According to these sources, the summit was for heads of state, but it seems the Sri Lankan foreign minister managed to gain access into the meeting after having been frisked by the Italian police. Mr Bogollagama had been informed by the Italian authorities that the summit was only for heads of state and not for foreign ministers, but he had been quite ingenious in gaining access.
It is alleged that after providing various explanations to the Italian authorities, Mr Bogollagama had entered the meeting room designated for the heads of state. He then realised that their was no additional seat for him to occupy, but Italian officials had later provided a chair for him behind the president after he had provided ingenious explanations.

According to the highest sources, the Italian authorities are under the impression that the President of Sri Lanka was accompanied by his official “interpreter” to this particular meeting.
