TNA strongly condemns the indiscreminate bombing in Vaddakkachchi Village



(September 18, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Tamil National Alliance(TNA) strongly condomns the indiscreminate bombadment on civilians area in Vaddakkchchi of Kilinochchi district by Sri Lanka Air Force bombers on 17 September 2008, the TNA said in a press statement.

According to the statement, "the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), which attacked Vaddakkaachchi, 3 km east of Kilinochch Wednesday morning dropped bombs on a densely populated settlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IPDs) on Hudson Road, two tamil civilians injured, a 14-year-old boy and a father of three. A 15-year-old girl was fainted as her father sustained injuries."

"One house and four temporary shelters were completely destroyed in the indiscriminate air-strike."

"Sri Lankan Government had begun indiscriminate bombardment, after the foreign aid workers vacated Vanni on the instruction of GOSL."

"Criticaly injuried father was identified as S. Mahendran. He was rushed to Vaddakkachchi hospital and later transferred to Kilinochchi hospital. His daughter, M. Kanakampikai, was taken to hospital in a fainted state."
